Privacy Policy
How we collect, use and look after your personal data.
Who we are
DCS Insure is a trading name of Portway Financial Limited, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 14917868), whose registered office is 1 The Portway, Porthcawl, CF36 3XB. Portway Financial Limited is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy.
Portway Financial Limited is an Appointed Representative of Connect IFA Limited, which is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. Where your data is passed to Connect IFA Limited or to an insurer, that organisation will handle it under its own privacy policy.
What we collect
- Contact details — your name, telephone number, email address and postal address.
- Information you give us about your circumstances — the sport you play, how you are paid, your health and occupation — where it is needed to arrange cover.
- Records of our correspondence with you, including calls and emails.
Why we use it, and our lawful basis
We use your personal data to respond to your enquiry, to introduce and arrange insurance and protection on your behalf, and to meet our regulatory and legal obligations. Our lawful bases are: taking steps at your request before entering into a contract; our legitimate interests in operating and administering our business; your consent, where you have given it; and compliance with a legal obligation.
Some of the information needed to arrange cover — for example about your health — is special category data. Where we handle it, we do so on the basis that it is necessary for an insurance purpose, or with your explicit consent.
Who we share it with
To arrange cover, we share your personal data with relevant third parties, which may include insurers and product providers on our panel, our principal firm Connect IFA Limited, and our software and administration suppliers. We do not sell your personal data to anyone.
How long we keep it
We keep your personal data for as long as is necessary for the purposes described above and to meet our regulatory obligations. For insurance and protection business this is generally a minimum of six years after our relationship ends, and longer where the product or the regulator requires it.
Your rights
You have the right to ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, to have inaccurate data corrected, and — in certain circumstances — to have your data erased or its use restricted, to object to our processing of it, and to receive it in a portable form. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at contact@portwaygroup.com or write to DCS Insure, 1 The Portway, Porthcawl, CF36 3XB.
Cookies and measurement
This website sets no cookies and does not track you across other websites. We do count how many times each page is opened, so we know which parts of the site are useful. That count records the page, the day, and the website you arrived from — nothing else. It does not record your IP address, your device, or anything that could identify you, and it is not shared with any advertising network. If your browser sends a “Do Not Track” signal, we don't count the visit at all.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your personal data, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, or by calling 0303 123 1113.
Our ICO registration
Portway Financial Limited is registered with the Information Commissioner's Office under reference ZB625186.
